Celebrities who suffered from Parkinson

Parkinson’s commonly shows up after the age of 50, in which all your body starts producing irregular motions. The disease may begin with a start as humble as a tremor of your hand for a second, but with time, it takes over the whole of your body.

Though it is a very popular disease, the science has been unfortunate in finding a cure to this problem. This is because the real reasons behind the activation of this disease are unknown. This further escalates the issue as doctors cannot predict who will catch this disease and who won’t.

History has seen many famous people suffering from this problem. Some of them are discussed below:

Who doesn’t know Muhammad Ali? The undisputed king of the boxing ring also suffered from Parkinson’s. He started showing the signs immediately after he retired from his boxing career, though he was properly diagnosed later at the age of 42. Many state that the cause of his disease were the blows he suffered during his boxing career.

Billy Graham served his life for the betterment of others. He was not only a Baptist minister but a celebrity to many. His work on the welfare of society and his critics of a modern civilization changing the cultural bonds earned him a lot of plaudits. He was diagnosed with the problem in 1992.

Thorpe served as the head to Liberal Party in the United Kingdom and also as a member of the Parliament for North Devon. From the mid-80s onwards, he was disabled because of this disease. The strokes he suffered from were of a severe kind.

The legendary actor suffered from Lewy Body Dementia which is similar to Parkinson’s. However, recent reports suggest that he was misdiagnosed with the disease, but many still believe that it was Parkinson’s which he suffered from it, at one part of his life.

Of the many famous names who suffered from Parkinson’s, one is Adolf Hitler. Studies claim that it was the disease which played a part in his swinging moods and stern mentality, amid which he took so many irrational military decisions. He suffered tremors in his left hand whenever he grew angry.

The legendary musician was diagnosed with the disease in the 1990s but he came public with the issue in the year 2000. Since then, he has been working on raising awareness on the issue. Maurice finally died in Feb this year after years of service in the research and awareness on Parkinson’s.

Fox played the role of a young boy who goes back into the past and changes a couple of the things which went wrong. He was diagnosed with the problem during his 30s, after which he established a research foundation which raises funds for the research on the issue.
