Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is progressive disorder of brain. This generally occurs at the age of 60 years or more than 60 years. German scientist found this disease in 1907 in a woman who died because of sudden illness of brain. He found some tangles and plaques in her brain. He also found that nerve cells in areas of brain are failed. There is no cure for this disease.

Symptoms of Alzheimer’s: There are many symptoms for this disease. They are forgetting names, forgetting things happened just now, loss of initiative, problem in language, problem in sleeping, wandering in nights, poor in making judgment, etc. There are three main stages in this disease. They are mild stage, which is also called as forgetful stage, which will be there for 2 to 4 years. Medium stage it is also called as confusional stage, it will be there for 2 to 10 years. Last stage is the severe stage, which will be there till death of the affected person. At this stage more care and affection should be taken, as nerve cells will fail completely.

Risk factors of Alzheimer’s: There are many risk factors for this Alzheimer’s disease. They are family factors, genetics, hereditary, head injury, brain tumor, etc. It is found that some antioxidants found in some vegetables and fruits will help in the treatment of this Alzheimer’s disease.

Parkinson’s Disease

Parkinson’s disease is caused due to degenerative disorder of central nervous system which impairs sufferer’s from motor skills and speech.

Symptoms of Parkinson’s: Parkinson’s disease affects movements. Symptoms of this disease are further classified into motor symptoms and non-motor symptoms. Motor symptoms are tremor, rigidity, fatigue, etc. Non-motor symptoms are mood disturbances; sleep disturbances, cognitive disturbances, sensation disturbances, etc. Currently there are no blood and laboratory tests for diagnosis of this Parkinson’s disease. This disease is seen in all age people. It is difficult to diagnose this Parkinson’s disease accurately.

Causes of Parkinson’s: there are some causes for this Parkinson’s disease. They are genetics, toxins, head trauma, drug induced, etc. 

At present there is no cure for this Parkinson’s disease but there are some medications available, which will give some relief and improves the quality of life. There are many organizations for Parkinson’s disease. Researches are going on to know the correct treatment for this Parkinson’s disease. They are also trying to know the reason for the occurrence of this Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s Signs Linked to Alzheimer’s

Older people who rapidly develop the tremors and other classical symptoms of Parkinson’s disease may be up to eight times as likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease. A new study shows that the progression of symptoms traditionally associated with Parkinson’s disease, such as an irregular gait, muscle rigidity, tremors, and limited movement, are also linked to a decline in mental functioning and the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

Researchers say Parkinson’s disease-like symptoms are common in older people with and without Alzheimer’s disease, but the link between the progression or severity of these muscle-related symptoms and later development of Alzheimer’s disease has not been studied until now.
